LAPAROSCOPIC OPERATIONS +

A surgical treatment performed through small abdominal incisions, allowing modern instruments to be used to accurately address the problem. The use of this method is particularly important for women of childbearing age. The main advantages of laparoscopic surgery are:
  • less post-operative pain and a shorter recovery period, with most patients able to return home the same evening or the following day;
  • less post-operative morbidity – lower risk of wounds, abdominal inflammation;
  • reduced risk of haemorrhage;
  • better visualisation of the problem – especially important for women of childbearing age;
  • better cosmetic effect.
The team at Vītols Clinic has extensive experience in laparoscopic treatment of a wide range of gynaecological conditions. The services offered by the clinic include:
  • surgical treatment of endometriosis, including laparoscopic treatment of deep endometriosis, endometriosis of the bowel, bladder, and other organs;
  • laparoscopic treatment of uterine or vaginal prolapse (weakness or descent) with mesh;
  • uterine myoma treatment with preservation of the uterus – laparoscopic removal of the myoma node;
  • laparoscopic hysterectomy or removal of the uterus;
  • urinary incontinence (in the case of cough, laughter, etc.) – laparoscopic Burch surgery;
  • ovarian cysts – laparoscopic cyst removal;
  • congenital vaginal aplasia or agenesis – laparoscopic neo-vaginal creation;
  • infertility problems – laparoscopic splitting of adhesions, surgery of obstructed fallopian tubes, procedures to restore tubal patency;
  • caesarean scar defect (after caesarean section) – laparoscopic scar repair;
  • cervical insufficiency (recurrent preterm birth) – laparoscopic cerclage;
  • etc.

Hysteroscopic surgeries +

A surgical procedure in which a hysteroscope – a camera equipped with surgical instruments – is inserted into the uterine cavity under general anaesthesia. It is the basic method of examination for abnormal uterine bleeding. During surgery, all procedures are carried out under direct visual control, ensuring precise and effective treatment. It is performed when outpatient hysteroscopy is not tolerated or when an abnormality is too large to be treated with a diagnostic hysteroscope. It is a minimally invasive method that allows you to return home on the same day. The following problems can be addressed by hysteroscopic surgery:
  • treatment of uterine polyps;
  • hysteroscopic treatment of fibroid nodules;
  • treatment of uterine septum and congenital uterine anomalies (shape abnormalities);
  • removal of uterine adhesions;
  • hysteroscopic treatment of a caesarean scar defect;
  • evacuation of a trapped spiral;
  • etc.

VAGINAL SURGERY +

This approach makes surgical treatment and correction of the following conditions possible:
  • labia minora hypertrophy – labia minora surgery (labioplasty);
  • perineoplasty – surgery to correct perineal deformities;
  • vaginal, cervical or labia masses;
  • uterine and vaginal wall prolapse;
  • Bartholin gland abscess.

CONVENTIONAL OR LAPAROTOMY SURGERY +

At Vītols Clinic, our doctors’ expertise in laparoscopic surgery means that conventional surgery is only needed in exceptional cases, when laparoscopy is not possible. Laparotomy is most often required for very large ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids that extend above the umbilicus into the abdominal cavity.
