Vītola klīnika doctors learn the radiofrequency ablation method in Germany

On 21 and 22 September, Vītola klīnika doctors Dr. Antons Babuškins and Dr. Elina Sedleniece visited mic.ma.clinic in Mainz, Germany, where they expanded their knowledge of the use of radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis.

Radiofrequency is a modern, uterus-preserving treatment method that, in certain situations, can be used as an alternative or complementary treatment to traditional surgery.

During the procedure, a thin needle-like electrode is inserted into the tissue under ultrasound guidance. Using high-frequency electrical current, controlled heat is generated in the nodule, approximately 80–100 °C, causing thermal tissue necrosis. The body then gradually absorbs this tissue itself.

Very soon, radiofrequency ablation will also be available at Vītola klīnika as an additional treatment option alongside the technologies already available.
