Dr. Linda Kokaine begins VAAPS treatment at Vītola klīnika

Vītola klīnika surgeon and proctologist Dr. Linda Kokaine has started performing endoscopic treatment of pilonidal sinus using the VAAPS method (Video-Assisted Ablation of Pilonidal Sinus ).

The main advantage of this method is the possibility to treat even more complex cases of pilonidal sinus in a minimally invasive way, avoiding extensive soft tissue surgery. This means less tissue trauma, a gentler postoperative period, and potentially faster recovery.

Although the VAAPS method has been used worldwide for approximately 10 years, until now it has not been available in Latvia. Vītola klīnika is the first to offer this treatment option to patients in Latvia, continuing to develop modern and patient-friendly surgical methods.
